UFC1 is done!

Took and passed the Objective Assessment last night for UFC1 Managerial Accounting and passed – just barely, but a pass is a pass! I spent right at 6 weeks on that class and honestly could have spent another 6 weeks and probably still not have mastered every single competency.  Its that dense of a class – so many formulas to remember.

Now onto C250 – Cost and Managerial Accounting which carries on where UFC1 ended.  A lot of the same material but more in depth.  Hoping to knock this course out by end of June.

On deck for July and my final course of the term will be  C241 – Business Law for Accountants. I’ve taken the Pre-Assessment on C241 and scored 15% below the cut score. A lot of the material was somewhat familiar, so hopefully just brushing up on lower scoring sections will do the trick. I will have about 3.5 weeks to get this one done before my term is up end of July.

Out with CZC1 and in with UFC1

After failing the first time with a 61% – cut score being 67%, I passed CZC1 on the 19th.  About 4 weeks longer than I would have liked but that just means I have to bust my butt to get back on schedule for the rest of the term.

So now onto UFC1 – Managerial Accounting.  Following some advice from fellow students I’m watching the Tony Bell videos on YouTube and liking them so far.  Hoping to knock this course out by end of May.

Term 4

A little late to the game in documenting this journey towards betterment but hey, better late than never!

I started at WGU in August of 2014 – finished up my first term with 15 CU’s.  I started out the term with a bang, finishing my first three courses within the two months.  Then came IWT1/IWC1 – Literature, Arts and Humanities – ugh!  Probably my worse courses to date, I just couldn’t get into them and there was so much to try and remember for a crummy 2 CU’s each.  I ended up carrying over the Performance Assessment (IWT1) into my 2nd term but was able to wrap that up fairly quickly.

Term 2 I also knocked out 15 CU’s.  The Statistics class gave me some headache but was actually quite interesting.  It was the Integrated Natural Science courses that frustrated me during this term.  Talk about information overload!  Every realm of science crammed into one 4 CU course!  The Performance Assessment course wasn’t bad at all – just a lot of tedious work to get through.

Term 3 – 21 CU’s this term!  I was so proud of myself!  I knocked out Project Management, Marketing and Business Communications, Spreadsheets and Quantitative Analysis during this term.  I rather enjoyed each course during this term.

Now onto my current term – I am diving into the accounting courses and feeling a little overwhelmed.  I transferred in Principles of Accounting (VYC1) but  I took it a few years ago so I feel like I’m re-learning some items.  I am attempting to wrap up CZC1 – Accounting II.  I took the pre-assessment today and scored a 67% which is also the cut score so I need to study more.  Quite a bit more actually since I felt myself guessing on multiple questions.  So my plan is to study up on my lowest scoring sections and re-take the pre-assessment again in a couple of days and hopefully schedule the Objective Assessment for the next week.
